I’ve owned mine for a month now, and it’s great. My sister’s both have ipods and they’re jealous about the idea of being able to add more space onto it. Also, it works as a voice recorder, and u pick up fm stations off it too. To me it’s better than ipod, although it’s not a cool looking.

After about 3 months things started going down hill really fast. After leaving it in the car on a summer day something went wrong with the with the power saver. I’d charge it over night and the next morning it would be dead. I’d listen to it for 5 minutes, turn it off, then turn it back on and it would be at half power. Recently the screen broke. That just gave me a good reason to get rid of it.
Trust me, keep looking.

This SanDisk Sansa View 8 GB Video MP3 Player is packed with features at a price that is far below what you would expect to pay for this level of features and quality. First the screen is the perfect size for portability, it is neither too big to be portable nor too small to make it hard to view. You can download and watch full length movies as well as most other videos and photos. Of course you can download a tremendous number of songs but, for those times when you don’t want to bother with downloading new songs or simply want to listen to something different, you can also listen to the built in FM Radio with presets. This unit can also be used as a voice recorder great for meetings or classes. This unit feels substantial in your hands and features very easy to use controls. This is a feature packed powerhouse at a budget friendly price. If you are looking for the features of an iPod video but don’t want to pay the high price then this is the player for you! I would not hesitate for one moment to recommend this fantastic item to everyone. The only one small downside is that in order to charge the battery you need to plug it into your computer. This is easily corrected however with the optional AC adapter and car adapter for those times your away from a wall outlet but still need charging.

I love my Sansa Fuze. It works well with Rhapsody. The memory is expandable–just pop in a microSD card. Have had no problems or glitches. Would certainly recommend this MP 3 player. Good product for a good price.

My other player is an ipod and i use itunes to manage my ‘owned’ music. However, i have a subscription to ‘rent’ music from rhapsody, and i got a 4g fuze to use for the subscription service(ipod not compatible). The fuze is solid. about the same surface area as my nano, and a little heftier. UI is intuitive. Most importantly it interfaces seamlessly with Rhapsody. I browsed rhapsody and loaded this little sucker in no time flat. I recommend both rhapsody ultimate pass (or whatever it’s called - $15 monthly) and this device highly. it was a bargain at 80 usd. i don’t use the video capability, so i can’t comment on that.

I purchased this item to replace a 2 year old Sansa 8GB MP3 Player. I love the improvements to the new 16 GB Sansa View–a bit larger screen with some new video features (esp “last played” which lets me continue listenting where I was when I quit listening previously, power on/off/lock button much easier to use, FM radio seems better, battery lasts at leat twice as long before needing recharge, and it holds many more songs!
Customer Review: Not recommended, terrible customer service!
I purchased the Sansa View in January 2008. Since I really only needed the music function, I did not experiment with the video, picture, or voice record features. I would rate the sound as adequate (as expected for the price.) The songs are accessed by title, artist, and genre. The scroll wheel is a nice feature to quicly move through 16gb of music. The Sansa view constantly froze during normal play, even after firmware upgrade. The only resolution is to “reset” the player (direct advice from the Sansa helpline.) After constant resets, the on/off button broke, or became disengaged. Since it is still under warranty, I called the company to inquire about fixing or replacing my Sansa View. They offered to replace my Sansa View if I could e-mail pictures and the receipt to them. It has been 6 weeks and I have sent over 50 e-mails the the RMA/support department. They claim to have received the pictures but not the receipt. I have continued to place several calls the the support department, but I am told e-mail the receipt. I have sent the receipt in 7 different document formats to the same e-mail address as the pictures, but still have not had a reply. This has to be the worst customer support I have ever experienced. I feel that their resolution is not to fix or replace my Sansa View, but to continue to go in circles until I give up or the warranty expires. I guess you get what you pay for. I will never buy another SanDisk product again.

CONS: The shaking method takes a while to master (even for an adult). More often than not, it’ll turn itself off if you shake ‘incorrectly.’ Using the white bands to change the volume and songs is much easier. PROS: The built-in speaker (on top) is handy but not very loud. Transferring MP3 files is easy enough with the included USB cable. Comes with an SD card that you can use elsewhere. It’s a MP3 toy gadget, so it’s worth the $20-30 price.

My daughter loves her Sansa Shaker. It’s best for younger kids because it has only 1 button to play plus 2 dials for volume and forward/back. The speaker function is a lot of fun and plays with surprisingly good quality. The only problem she has with it is the bottom lid pops off easily (this is where the battery and USB port are located)but it is held togther with a strap. This product would not be great for anyone over 10 because there’s no display for the songs, equalizer, etc.

Customer Review: It’s Worth the Less Than $25 Price for Limited Usage
I’ve had a 1GB Sansa Express for about four months. I also got a 2GB microSD card at the same time through Amazon. This player has very good sound through good earphones (not the ear buds that came with it) or powered speakers. The microSD expansion didn’t work out for me. With the microSD card, it took the Express an unacceptable length of time to build its database each time it was turned on, if it completed the database build at all without locking up. Also, my Express has never been able to play very long on a battery charge, and it takes a very long time to charge (I’m talking overnight and then some).
So … I put my most favorite music in the 1GB internal memory and use it only for my morning walks. With this 45 minute to 1 hour usage, it performs well. I plug it in to a USB outlet and leave it charging until the next morning, and it’s charged enough to last an hour plus. I would advise against buying the Sansa Express if you’re hoping to use it as your only MP3 player. I got a Sanza 4GB Fuze from Amazon for $68, and it works wonderfully as my primary music player.
Customer Review: Great Deal, occassional gliches
I was able to purchase this from an Amazon market place seller for about $25 bucks. It was brand new unopened in the infamous clamshell casing. It worked superbly for a week. Now it works great 95% of the time. One day, I stuck it into the usb port of an older work computer and it now has two minor glitches regularly:
1. If I turn up the volume a little, it will go all the way to max volume, either needing a soft reset or for you to go to the main menu and then lower volume.
2. It will not shuffle songs, if you reset and had on shuffle it behaves as if not on shuffle. repair: just turn shuffle back off and on again.
I use it daily and 1. glitch happens maybe every other week or so, i guess when I charge the drive on the computer. (as far as I know it charges on computer only, i think for about 3 to 5 hrs, I leave it on as soon as I get home or over night.) I tried an external usb charger but not notification of charging appeared on screen.
FROM USER ERROR the FM radio didn’t have any sound, but I discovered that play/pause toggle button will mute it.
Remember when putting microSD in it has to organize info first so can take 5 mins or more to load larger microSD card (2 gigs).
